Minnesota native becomes first TCU freshman to earn All-Big 12
FORT WORTH – TCU freshman Sam Udovich earned another Big 12 honor on Monday when he was named All-Big 12 Second Team.
Udovich became the first TCU freshman to be named All-Big 12 and the first Horned Frog since Julien Brun to earn all-conference honors as a freshman. Brun was named All-Mountain West Conference as a freshman in the 2011-12 season.
Udovich is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Big 12 Championship, where he was named to the Big 12 All-Tournament team. The Grove Heights, Minn. native has four top 10 finishes this season and leads the Horned Frogs with a score average of 70.43.
In October, Udovich went 19-under and was runner-up at the Ka'anapali Classic, tied for the lowest score vs. par for 54 holes by a TCU player since at least the 1993-94 season. Also, his score of 194 was the lowest 54-hole score since at least the 1993-94 season.
The all-conference awards were determined by Clippd rankings and honors were given to the top 20 ranked players in the Big 12.
