Horned Frogs come up short of fourth consecutive conference title

TUCSON, Ariz. – Ninth-ranked and second-seeded TCU Beach Volleyball took down No. 18 Boise State before falling to No. 4 Florida State in the Big 12 Championship on Friday afternoon at Bear Down Beach.

MATCH ONE – [2] TCU 3, [5] Boise State 0

The Horned Frogs opened the day with a quick 3-0 decision against Boise State on Friday afternoon.

TCU opened the match strong, taking four first sets to gain some momentum.

From there, things went pretty quickly, as the Horned Frogs three victories happened in mere minutes.

Opening up the scoring at 2 was Elea Beutel and Kaitlyn Bradley. Immediately after them, Anna Long and Natalie Glenn got the victory.

To clinch the match and advance the Frogs, Morgan Williams and Sofia Izuzquiza took the win at Flight 4.

TCU is now 4-0 all-time against Boise State, and 2-0 this season.
TCU extended its conference championships win streak to 14, in addition to a postseason win streak of 10.
Morgan Williams and Sofia Izuzquiza improved to 3-0 together on the weekend.

Seeking its fourth consecutive conference title, TCU fell short in tightly-contested matches to top-seeded Florida State in the Big 12 Championship match.

The Horned Frogs started slow, falling on three of five courts in the first set.

Florida State would use that momentum to power them to a quick victory at Flight 4 to gain an advantage.

Another Seminole sweep came at the ones, as Stacy Reeves and Anhelina Khmil dropped two close sets to the FSU pair.

After winning the first set, Elea Beutel and Kaitlyn Bradley were unable to continue that momentum, falling in three sets to give Florida State the Big 12 title in its first season in the league.
