Frogs seek eighth PRC title
FORT WORTH – No. 4 TCU heads to The X Count Range in Fort Wayne, Ind. to compete at the 2026 PRC Championships. The championships begin Saturday with smallbore and will conclude Sunday with air rifle.
TCU is taking aim at its eighth PRC Championship title. The Horned Frogs have dominated the PRC, sweeping both disciplines seven times in program history. Additionally, TCU has won air rifle discipline eight times.
The Frogs have won nine individual championships between five individuals. Mindy Miles won four straight air rifle titles from 2015-18. Elizabeth Marsh was the 2018 smallbore champion and in 2020, Casey Lutz took home the air rifle crown. Stephanie Grundsoee was the 2021 smallbore and air rifle champion. At the 2023 championships, Julie Johannessen took home the air rifle title.
The Frogs have recorded team aggregate scores of 4,730 or higher in 12 of 13 regular season matches and carry a season average of 4,737.15, which ranks fourth nationally entering postseason competition. As a team, the Frogs rank second nationally in smallbore (2,354.23) and third in air rifle (2,382.92).
TCU has been anchored by senior Katie Zaun, who leads the Frogs and ranks fourth nationally with an aggregate average of 1,189.17. Zaun also paces the team in both smallbore (591.83) and air rifle (597.33), ranking third and seventh nationally, respectively.
Sophomore Rylie Passmore has provided another steady presence, averaging 1,182.46 on the year, while freshman Alexandra Rosenlew owns a 1,181.69 aggregate average.
Depth has been a strength for the Frogs all season. Mikole Hogan (1,179.92), Marissa Fedora (1,179.02) and Christina Hillinger (1,179.08) all average better than 1,179.
In smallbore, all six shooters at the championships rank in the top 40 nationally. Zaun leads the way, sitting third nationally with a 591.83. Rylie Passmore, who has shot a 590 or better in five of her last six matches, sits 13th nationally with a season average of 588.23. Fedora, Hogan and Rosenlew all average a 585 or higher on the season.
TCU boasts eight shooters in the top 50 of season air rifle average. Zaun's 597.33 ranks seventh nationally. Fedora, Hogan, Hillinger, Passmore and Rosenlew all average 594 on the season.
Competing at the championships with be Air Force, Alaska, Nebraska, Ohio State, Ole Miss and UTEP. Three teams (Alaska, Nebraska and Ole Miss) are in line to make the NCAA Championships.
