Marks the 13th consecutive season TCU opens in the Top 10
WACO, Texas – Just over two weeks out from the TCU equestrian season opener, the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) announced on Tuesday that the Frogs sit as the No. 7 team in the country in the NCEA Preseason Coaches Poll.
This marks the 13th consecutive season TCU will open the year in the top 10. The NCEA began ranking teams in 2017-18, and TCU is one of just six teams to be featured in every edition of the poll.
Beginning this season, the NCEA is debuting a new ranking format. Starting with a preseason ranking, all member institutions coaches will have the opportunity to rank Dual Discipline 1-10. Rankings will be assigned a point value, and the schools will be ranked overall based on the points they accumulate from the poll.
The coaches poll will run through the fall slate of competition on a weekly basis, with the final coaches poll coming out on November 25, 2025.
Beginning on February 10, the NCEA Selection Committee will release its first rankings. From that point forward the Selection Committee will release rankings on a weekly basis with the final regular season ranking announced on March 17, 2026.
Following the conference championship competition, the NCEA Selection committee will release the selections for the national championship on March 31, 2026.
TCU is amidst its winningest era ahead of the 2025-26 campaign. The Horned Frogs have posted four straight winning seasons for the first time in the Big 12 era and just the second time in program history. The program has also been strong at home as of late, posting 22 straight home regular season wins dating back to 2021-22, the longest streak in the NCEA.
The Frogs are set to host the Purple and White scrimmage on Friday, September 19, at 10 a.m. as a preview to the season at Bear Creek Farms. The regular season will get underway when TCU hosts No. 6 Oklahoma State on Friday, October 3, at 12:30 p.m., also marking the first Big 12 meet of the season.
This season, over half of TCU's meets will be against a team featured in the Preseason Top-10. In addition to the entire Big 12 being in the rankings, the Frogs will go against No. 1 Georgia and No. 3 Auburn to close out their fall slate as non-conference opponents.
