TCU senior will tee off on Monday
FORT WORTH – TCU senior Toby Wilt will play in the 125th U.S. Amateur beginning Monday at The Olympic Club in San Francisco, Calif.
Wilt, an economics major, qualified when he won the 116th Texas Amateur in July. The Nashville, Tenn., native won by two-strokes after carding a final-round 71 at Ridgewood Country Club in Waco, Texas. He was 12-under 268 after four rounds.
Wilt completed his second season with the Horned Frogs in May and tied for 23rd at the Big 12 Championship at Southern Hills Country Club. For the year, Wilt had a scoring average of 72.7 and was 0.07 vs. par.
Wilt's tee time is 10:13 a.m. CT, about 30 minutes after TCU alum and Fort Worth resident Travis Woolf goes off at 9:42 a.m.
