
TCU Defeats Air Force with Strong Air Rifle Performance

Zaun leads all events as Horned Frogs secure 4,730-4,720 victory
FORT WORTH - No. 5 TCU women's rifle team defeated No. 8 Air Force 4,730-4,720 in Fort Worth, using a strong air rifle performance to secure the win. The Horned Frogs posted a 2,383 in air rifle to overcome a smallbore deficit, where the Falcons held a 2,352-2,347 advantage.
TCUs Katie Zaun led all shooters with an aggregate score of 1,192, recording the top scores in both disciplines. Mikole Hogan followed with an 1,183, while Micah Hames (1,178) and Christina Hillinger (1,177) rounded out TCU's top performers. Annie Downum shot a career-high 1,176, tying with Rylie Passmore, while Marissa Fedora finished with a 1,174.
Zaun also led in smallbore with a match-best 594, followed by Hogan with a 587. Hames fired a career-high 585, with Hillinger close behind (584), while Fedora rounded out the group with a 581. Downum (579), Passmore (580), and Stuart's career-best 577, did not factor into the final score.
TCU took control in air rifle, securing four of the top five scores. Zaun led with a 598, while Downum fired a career-best 597. Passmore and Hogan each posted a 596, and Hillinger and Fedora followed with matching 593s. Also competing were Ziva Swick (595), Anne White (594), and Stuart, who tied her career high with a 588.
Air Force was led by Lauren Hurley, who finished with an 1,184 aggregate, firing a 589 in smallbore and a 595 in air rifle.
The Frogs return to action Saturday, hosting the Air Force NCAA Qualifier at the TCU Rifle Range.
