FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior Jayme Omand will look to capture the same type of magic this season that propelled her to NCEA All-America accolades last season.
Considering that coming into her sophomore season, Omand had only posted two wins in Equitation on the Flat for her young career, the California product made plenty of noise in her second year in Fort Worth, nearly doubling her win total. When it was all said and done, Omand was named an NCEA Honorable Mention All-American in the discipline, riding to a 9-5-0 overall record on the Flat with one MOP during the regular-season. She was awarded All-America recognition for a first time in her career by ending the season with 10 wins, including three in the Big 12 Conference.
By earning All-America recognition, Omand helped head coach Logan Fiorentino continue the program's high standards in Hunt Seat by becoming the fourth student-athlete in the last two years to earn All-America recognition in the discipline and seventh overall since 2011.
She also picked Honorable Mention Academic All-America accolades as well as second-team Academic All-Big 12 honors during her sophomore season thus showing stellar performances both inside the show ring and classroom.
