Quotes from the Match
Head Coach Erik Peterson
Opening Statement
"We are very fortunate to be able to travel out here and compete against a team that has the history that Hawaii Pacific does. I am really happy with the performance that we showed in this morning's match. We were definitely hungry to get out there and compete and I think we were able to go out and execute consistently"
On training in Hawaii this past week
"The weather has really been crazy this week, so it has really been an extremely good environment to train in and get out of our comfort zone. We were able to really apply those lessons that we learned this week to today's match. I think we really handled the ball well today and there was some pretty unforgiving winds and our girls really handled it and were able to work with it and use it to our advantage. Tomorrow we will make adjustments sooner out of the gate and that will help us start out stronger."
On what matches stood out today
"Our first round of matches really set the tone for the day. Our No. 4 and No. 5 pairs came out strong and never let off the gas. The rest of the teams were really able to jump out and keep the momentum going after that."
