FORT WORTH, Texas - With TCU having an off week, GoFrogs.com recently caught up with former NCEA All-America honoree Kaitlin Perry.
A two-time NCEA All-American, Perry, who closed her career with a 35-18-4 overall record in Equitation on the Flat, was named a 2015 NCEA All-American, garnering Honorable Mention All-America accolades in her final year.
Arguably one of the all-time greats for the Purple and White on the Hunt Seat side, Perry earned numerous honors during her storied career, including being named a two-time All-American, the Big12 Most Outstanding Performer, an All-Big 12 selection, and a three-time Academic All-Big 12 honoree. She was also a two-time Academic All-America recipient.
Perry had a banner senior season in 2015 as she was named the Big 12 Most Outstanding Performer at the Big 12 Championship in Equitation on the Flat, going 2-0 in the discipline. She was also named to the prestigious Beval Saddlery Academic Team and was an Academic All-Big 12 selection. Perry closed out her final year in a Horned Frog uniform recording a 9-3-2 record in Equitation on the Flat, while posting two MOP's.
TCU Experience Pays Off in Political World

"I am currently working as an Account Executive at a political public affairs firm in Sacramento, Calif. My firm mainly works on legislative issues that affect the business community in California. This year we are handling the media for one of the 17 ballot propositions on California's November ballot. So it's been pretty busy!
I truly believe that if I hadn't attended TCU - I'd be in a vastly different place in my life. TCU helped me and guided me in more ways than I can say. While being a student-athlete was difficult - the girls, my coaches and our experience as a unified team taught me self-determination, time management, how to succeed under pressure and keep a level head when presented with a stressful situation. More than that, the team taught me to never be too hard on myself, learn from my mistakes and that you can have fun while working harder than anyone else in the country.
However, I cannot stress enough how much I appreciated the classes I took at TCU and how much they taught me about my chosen career path. Both my parents own and run successful public affairs firms in the area. Their expertise combined with the knowledge I gained from my political science professors truly prepared me for my career path. The independence I gained while studying at TCU allowed me to believe in myself. It allowed me to believe that I can create my own career and gain experience from my mentors, but not necessarily follow in their every step.
I miss parts of Fort Worth life every day, but I am now part of the best alumni in the nation. Going back to visit and cheer on the Frogs is just as much fun now as when I was going to school. Californians just don't know how to tailgate like TCU."
GO FROGS & SPIT BLOOD!
Kaitlin
