Rifle Debuts At No. 3 In Preseason Poll

FORT WORTH - The TCU women's rifle team has debuted at No. 3 in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association preseason poll.

The ranking comes on the heels of yet another successful season under the guidance of head coach Karen Monez. TCU has qualified for the NCAA Championships each of the last nine years. The Horned Frogs turned in a third-place finish at the National Championships last season.

Monez has an experienced team returning to the range this season. All five shooters that traveled to the National Championships return in senior Hannah Black, junior Sally Li and sophomores Katie Bridges, Mindy Miles and Ariana Grabowski. In all, 11 shooters from the 2014-15 squad are back. This fall, Monez welcomed a pair of freshmen Rachel Garner and Nicole Hankey.

The 2015-16 schedule kicks off Oct. 3 when the Horned Frogs travel to Oxford, Miss. for the Ole Miss Invitational. The next day, TCU will head to Memphis for the Tiger Open.
