TCU Announces Signing of Selleck Wednesday

FORT WORTH, Texas - The nationally ranked TCU equestrian program announced the addition of Melanie Selleck Wednesday morning.
Selleck, who hails from California, will don the Purple and White next season after being crowned champion in Hunt Seat Equitation 14-15 at the Capital Challenge National Horse Show. The 2014 HITS Thermal Champion in Hunt Seat Equitation 14-15 has shined in national finals recently having qualified for the USEF Pessoa Hunt Seat Finals, Washington International Hunt Seat Finals, West Coast Equitation Finals, MaClay West Coast Regional Finals, M&S Equitation Finals in New York and the Ronnie Mutch Equitation Championships.
She recently placed fifth overall at the CPHA Junior Hunt Seat Medal Finals, averaging a score of 87.5 during competition, while wrapping-up action in third-place at the CPHA Foundation Finals. Selleck has shown well on the Large Junior Hunters Circuit, earning championship accolades at the Scottsdale, Blenheim Oaks and Los Angeles Autumn Jubilee Horse Shows.
In 2013, Selleck claimed Reserve Championship accolades at the West Coast Junior Hunter Finals and North American League Equitation on the Flat Phase Championship. She also had strong showings at the MaClay West Coast Regional Finals, USEF Pessoa Hunt Seat Finals and CPHA Junior and Foundation Finals, respectively.
Selleck will graduate from Oaks Christian High School in California. She is the niece of actor and Emmy Award winner Tom Selleck.
