TCU Falls to Air Force; Drops Coast Guard

Air Force's 4,680-point tally was bested TCU's score of 4,646. Coast Guard fired a 4,460 aggregate score. The Horned Frogs' totaled a 2,343 in air rifle and 2,303 in smallbore.
TCU's top air rifle performers were Mindy Miles with a 589 along with Ariana Grabowski's 586-point showing. Sally Li rounded out the top three Frog shooters with a 585.
Li and Grabowski put their best feet forward in the smallbore discipline, shooting a 580 and 578, respectively.
Tyler Rico (595) and Meredith Carpentier (593) carried the Falcons, and the entire field, in the air rifle discipline. They also led all smallbore shooters. Carpentier fired a 585, while Rico shot a 581.
Kativa Resney paced the Coast Guard in each discipline, shooting a 587 in air rifle and 562 in smallbore.
TCU will have multiple chances this season for retribution against Air Force, all in Colorado Springs. The two square off again on Feb. 6, and then join the rest of the PRC over the next two days for the conference championships. The annual NCAA Qualifier between the two schools is on Feb. 21.
The Horned Frogs will return to action with a Saturday tilt in West Point, N.Y., against Army and Ohio State.
