Track and Field Announces Fall Signing Class

FORT WORTH, Texas - The TCU track and field program announced the signings of five future Horned Frogs to National Letter's of Intent on Friday.
The signees are: Lexi Aitken, Jaden Davis, Darrion Flowers, Kirsten Johnston and Emily Suarez.
Lexi Aitken
100 Hurdles Race | 400 Hurdles Race
Aitken, a native of Clinton, Ontario, Canada, attends St. Anne's Catholic High School. Her personal-best in the 100 meter hurdles is 13.66 and her top time in the 400 meter hurdles is 58.89.
"We are excited to have Lexi," TCU's director of track and field Darryl Anderson said. "We're looking forward to having a conference and regional-level performer in both hurdles. She is a combination hurdler and we look forward to having her on campus."
Jaden Davis
Davis, out of Memphis, Tenn., is a sprinter for Hutchison High School. At the AAU National Junior Olympics on Aug. 8, 2014, she ran a 53.85 in the 400 meters and also ran 60.85 in the 400 hurdles. It was the top times for a native of Tennessee and 15th and 22nd in the nation, respectively.
"We're excited for Jaden to join our program," Anderson said. "We expect big things from her. She adds depth to our team and is a very talented young lady."
Darrion Flowers
Flowers, from Arlington, competes for Arlington Sam Houston High School as a sprinter and a football player. He recorded a time of 10.27 in the 100 meters at the Texas District 3-5A Championship. Flowers won the 5A State Championship with a time of 10.39. He will also play football for TCU.
"Darrion is the second-fastest high school senior in the country," Anderson said. "He just finished a great football playoff season and will immediately have a huge impact for us in track."
Kirsten Johnston
Johnston, a native of Beach City, Texas, is a distance runner for Mont Belvieu Barbers Hill High School. During the 2014 outdoor season, she posted a sixth-place finish at the Texas 4A State Championship in the 3200 meters. At this year's cross country State Championship, she also finished sixth in the 5K.
"Kirsten just finished a good cross country season where she finished sixth at the state meet," Anderson said. "She will add depth to our program and we're excited to have her on campus."
Emily Suarez
Suarez, from Edinburg, Texas, also competes as a distance runner for Economedes High School. She placed third in the Texas District 31-6A meet in the 5K event on Oct. 18, 2014. In the 2014 outdoor campaign, she posted a third-place finish in the 800 meters and a fourth-place time in the 1600 meters, both at the UIL District 29-5A Meet.
"We are very excited for Emily to join our program," Anderson said. "She will give us depth in the distance crew, which is young, and we are expecting big things from her in her senior year."
