Karen Monez begins her 11th season at the helm of the Horned Frog program. Entering their second season in the Patriot Rifle Conference, the Frogs boast eight returners from last year's squad that finished sixth at the 2014 NCAA Championships. In addition, TCU welcomed five freshmen to the team this fall.
An All-American in both disciplines as a freshman, Sally Li leads a group of talented shooters. She led TCU in air rifle (588), smallbore (578), and aggregate (1166) last year. Junior Hannah Black was second with averages of 584, 576, and 1161 in each respective discipline. Junior Megan Lee enters the season as the Horned Frogs' third-best returning shooter in each of the three categories.
The Black Knights, ranked No. 9 in the preseason CRCA poll, finished eighth at the NCAA Championships last year. Army will bring a young squad to Fort Worth that features just two upperclassmen in juniors, Alyssa Gestl and Olivia Nardone. Each shooter fired a 586 and 584 in air rifle, respectively, at the national championship. Army is a member of the Great American Rifle conference.
Gestl averaged a 582 in air rifle in 2013-14 to go along with a 574 in smallbore. Nardone's air rifle average a year ago was 583 to go along with her 566 smallbore average.
