Fort Worth, Texas - TCU Senior Chelsey Sample sat down to share some fun facts about herself in this week's summer look at the TCU equestrian program.
Who do people say is your celebrity look-alike, or who do you think you look most like?
"A lot of people say I look like my Grandma. She isn't a celebrity, but I think that counts."
Do you have any unusual talents or abilities?
"I would have to say riding horses because it is pretty unusual to people that don't ride."
Where is the coolest place you have visited?
"I have been to a lot of cool places. My family goes to Cancun on vacation sometimes, which is really cool. I also travel to shows with my horse and have been basically everywhere. Some of my favorite places are New York, Georgia, Oklahoma, Florida and Minnesota."
How did you choose equestrian as your sport?
"I used to beg my parents to let me ride horses when I was little. When I moved from North Carolina to Ohio in third grade, my sister and I started taking lessons at a local barn. Eventually my sister quit, but I fell in love and stuck with it."
What is your favorite hobby?
"I don't have any real hobbies other than riding horses. I like going to concerts and playing with my dogs. I really like cooking."
Who is someone you consider a role model?
"My mom and dad are definitely role models for me."
What is your favorite place to visit or activity to participate in Fort Worth?
"My favorite place to go in Fort Worth is the barn or the Will Rogers to watch the different events and shows. I have always wanted to go to the zoo, but I haven't yet."
What is one thing you have always wanted to do and haven't done yet?
"One thing I have wanted to do is ride a bull, but I also want to learn how to rope. I would probably not be very good at either, but it would be fun to try."
What is your favorite type of music?
"I love all kinds of music, but I usually listen to country to accommodate other people. When I am in the car by myself, I listen to a lot of rock and alternative music."
If your life was a movie, what genre would it be under?
"If my life were a movie it would be pretty boring. It would probably be a mix of comedy and drama. I try to stay drama free, but sometimes it is inevitable."
