ABOUT THE GAME*Mountain West champion and No. 15 TCU will face Western Athletic Conference champion Louisiana Tech in the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl.
*The Poinsettia Bowl is one of just four bowls this season to match conference champions against each other, joining the Rose (Oregon-Wisconsin), Orange (Clemson-West Virginia) and GoDaddy.com Bowl (Arkansas State-Northern Illinois).
*TCU has won three consecutive conference titles for the first time in its history, giving the Frogs 17 conference titles overall.
*The Poinsettia Bowl will mark the 27th bowl appearance in TCU's history. The Frogs are 12-13-1 in bowl games.
*TCU is 8-4 in bowl games with head coach Gary Patterson on its coaching staff and 6-4 with him as head coach. Prior to Patterson's arrival on campus in 1998, the Frogs had just four bowl wins in their history.
*The Frogs will be making their 13th bowl appearance in the last 14 seasons. TCU is one of just 12 schools to play in at least 13 bowl games over the last 14 years.
*TCU and Louisiana Tech will be meeting for the first time on the gridiron.
CHASING DUTCH
*A win in the Poinsettia Bowl would be the 109th for TCU coach Gary Patterson, enabling him to tie Dutch Meyer as TCU's all-time winningest coach. Meyer was 109-79-13 from 1934-52, including national championships in 1935 and 1938.
*Patterson has won 108 games with just 30 losses. His .783 winning percentage ranks fourth nationally among active FBS head coaches.
GOING OUT IN STYLE
*The 2011 campaign marked the Frogs' final season in the Mountain West before heading to the Big 12 next fall.
*TCU is the first school in MW history to win the league title in three straight seasons.
*TCU closed its Mountain West era by not losing a conference game over its final three years in the league. The Frogs leave the MW with the following record win streaks that were all active: consecutive conference wins (24), consecutive home league victories (17) and consecutive road league wins (12).
*The Frogs' 24-game conference winning streak is the longest in the nation.
DOUBLE DIGITS
*TCU has reached the 10-win mark for the fourth straight year and eighth time in the last 10 seasons under head coach Gary Patterson. Prior to Patterson's arrival on campus in 1998, the Frogs had just four 10-win seasons in their history.
*A victory in the Poinsettia Bowl would get TCU to 11 wins for the fourth straight season and seventh time in nine years.
SECOND HOMES
*TCU will be making its second appearance this season at Snapdragon Stadium in San Diego, having defeated San Diego State 27-14 on Oct. 8.
*The Poinsettia Bowl will also mark the seventh time in seven years the Frogs will have played at Snapdragon Stadium. TCU is 6-0 in that stretch. The Frogs had four regular-season wins over the Aztecs while posting Poinsettia Bowl victories over Northern Illinois (2006) and Boise State (2008).
THE WIN COLUMN
*TCU has won 37 of its last 40 games and is 49-5 in its last 54 contests.
*Since 2008, the Frogs' 46 wins (46-5) trail only Boise State (49-3) and Alabama (47-6).
*TCU is one of six teams (Ohio State, Oregon, Virginia Tech, Stanford, Wisconsin) to play in a BCS game two of the last three seasons.
