WINDMERE, Fla.—The TCU men's golf team finished off its fall schedule Tuesday with the final round of the annual Isleworth Collegiate Invitational at Isleworth Country Club. The Horned Frogs finished 12th place in the challenging team competition, while freshman Julien Brun tied for 10th place on the individual leaderboard.
TCU, rated 31st according to the latest release of the Golfweek/Sagarin national collegiate team rankings, was one of 11 squads in the tournament ranked among the nation's top-38 teams.
The Frogs gained one spot in the team standings with a final-round combined score of 312. The squad finished +57 overall during the three-day event. Texas (-8) ran away with the tournament by 26 strokes over runner-up LSU (+18), while TCU was four strokes behind Augusta State (+53) for 11th place.
Brun finished the fall season a perfect 4-for-4 in top-10 finishes, sharing the No. 10 spot with five other golfers at +4 for the week. He fired a par score of 72 Tuesday following opening rounds of 73 and 75.
Junior Daniel Jennevret, who tied for 30th place at +9, was the second Frog finisher following a final-round 76. Senior Johan de Beer (+14) and freshman Thomas Mantovanini (+32) were next on the leaderboard for TCU in 45th (tie) and 73rd place, respectively. Junior Pontus Gad placed 74th (+37).
TCU returns to the links February 1-3, when it travels to Kona, Hawaii, for the Amer Ari Invitational.
