
Horned Frogs Drop Skyhawks, 13-7

MARTIN, Tenn. - Ashley Aikman and Kolby Simonson both claimed MVP honors on Saturday afternoon as TCU dominated Tennessee-Martin at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex, 13-7.
"We had a great day today at Tennessee-Martin," said head coach Gary Reynolds. "Both Hunt Seat and Western were able to get victories today. The Hunt Seat team is 2-0 to begin the year and on a roll. On the Western side, we had some great runs today from Ashley Aikman and Kolby Simonson, who were both MVP's. Overall, we are in an excellent place to begin the season."

Overall, the Western team downed the Skyhawks, 7-3, while the Hunt Seat squad scored a 6-4 decision over UT Martin on Saturday. With the win, the Horned Frogs moved to 2-0 on the season, marking the first time in program history that the Frogs have opened the year 2-0. TCU has now won three-straight regular season matches dating back to last spring.
In Horsemanship, Aikman had a stellar day, claiming MVP accolades with a victory over Michelle Chulock. The senior scored a 74 to record the victory. Also victorious in the event were Lexie Estrada, Kelsey Huffman and Courtney Chown.
Senior Kelly Morris captured her first victory of the season on Saturday, downing Carly Lamb in Reining. Huffman continued her domination on Saturday, defeating Stephanie Sanders. Finally, Simonson posted her first MVP honor of the season on Saturday, upending Chulock.
In Equitation over Fences, Haley Jacobi moved to 2-0 on the season, upending Kara Sementi. Taylor Frederick and Lauren Quiroz were also victorious in the event at the Ned McWherter Agricultural Complex.
Sophomore Callie Selchau secured the victory for the Hunt Seat team in Equitation on the Flat, dropping Kara Bements. Jessica Hagen also scored a victory in the event. Finally, senior Tassie Munroe, a Valley Mills native, rounded out the Horned Frog scoring.
TCU will return home to take on Auburn on Saturday, Nov. 6.
