Coach Reynolds Thoughts
"It is always a grudge match against Texas A&M. They defeated us last year for the Varsity Equestrian Western National Championship and my girls are hungry for the rematch. Texas A&M is truly a machine, they have six Varsity Equestrian National Championships, which is awesome. Coach McKay and Coach Bass do an excellent job preparing their team. They have Caroline Gunn and Carey Nowacek, who have been really hot in Horsemanship this fall. Gunn was the Varsity Equestrian National Champion last year, so you know what she is capable of. Maggie Gratny has also been really good for them in Reining this year."
"On the other hand we have three riders in the Top 6 in the nation in Horsemanship: Carrie von Uhlit (No. 3), Kelsey Huffman (No. 5), Courtney Chown (No. 6).
"In Reining, we have three riders in the Top 7 in the nation: Carrie von Uhlit (No. 1), Kelsey Huffman (No. 6), Chloe Baker (No. 7)."
"Overall, we have the strongest team we have ever had and they are the most mature team I have ever coached. They know how to win and they know how to bring home points over and over again. We will do our job and leave the rest of it up to the judges."
February 5 Dual Format
The TCU versus Texas A&M competition will consist of only five western riders from each team.
Dual Format Information
