TCU signs three riders for next season

FORT WORTH, Texas-The TCU equestrian team has announced the signing of three riders to National Letters of Intent for next season. These riders include Courtney Chown, Katherine Crenshaw, and Lyndsi Hardin.
"We are very excited about this group of signees," TCU head coach Gary Reynolds said. "If we had top draft picks in our sport, these three would certainly qualify for the top, both on the Western side as well as the Hunt Seat."
Crenshaw, who has been riding for 14 years, has won titles such as the SWS Championship, Trillium Hunter/Jumper Association, Zone Championship, as well as several AA and AAA Championships. She is a native of Austin, Texas and trains at Hillcrest Farm in Argyle, about 40 minutes away from TCU.
Chown is a Western rider who has won numerous awards in the American Quarter Horse Youth Association. Her latest achievement came earlier this year when she won the Reserve World Championship in Western Horsemanship, an event TCU competes in at the Varsity Equestrian level. She was also in the top five in high point standings to finish 2007.
Hardin has competed in both the Western events as well as Hunt Seat events. She was a finalist in the American Paint Horse Association World Show in Showmanship, riding on her horse, Ton of Trouble. Hardin is currently ranked in the top five on the APHA Top 20 14-18, in Hunt Seat Equitation and Horsemanship, thus showing her diversity of riding skills.
"These three not only give us depth on the roster, but will be impact riders as soon as they are eligible for competition," Reynolds said.
