TCU-Stephen F. Austin final results
Highlighting the win for the Frogs was Kindel Huffman, as she picked up two MVPs on the day in Horsemanship as well as Equitation on the Flat. She scored a 91 in Equitation on the Flat to set a new TCU school record.
Huffman attributed her performance to her preparation coming into the contest. "Hard work and dedication," Huffman said. "I've ridden every day for the last three weeks without a day off."
The Frogs improved their Western record to a perfect 4-0, led by their Horsemanship team who won the event 3-1. Chloe Baker had the high score for the Frogs in the event, with a 73.5.
In the reining Carrie von Uhlit picked up her second MVP of the season with a 70. TCU tied the Lady Jacks in the event 2-2.
In Equitation over Fences, three Frogs posted season highs. Lauren Quiroz scored an 80, Tassie Munroe an 81, and Juli Skobel had a 77.
"I'm really proud of this team," head coach Gary Reynolds said. "We've got some things we've really got to work on on our Western team and Equitation over Fences. A good Lumberjacks team came in and gave us a good fight all the way."
The Frogs will take a three-week break before heading to Waco for the Fall Tournament hosted by Waco, October 26-27. All the action can be followed on gofrogs.com
