FORT WORTH, TexasThe TCU Equestrian team returns to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Mansfield, as it plays its first home game of the season, against Stephen F. Austin.
TCU faced Stephen F. Austin last year in Nacogdoches, as the Lady Jacks took down the Frogs, 7-5. Only two riders who competed in last year's contest will be competing tomorrow, Carrie von Uhlit and J.J. Whichard.
The Frogs will look to get their first win of the season against Stephen F. Austin, went 0-3 to open the season two weeks ago.
The Western team went undefeated in its portion of the trip, going 3-0, including a victory over South Carolina, who TCU faced in the first round of last year's Western National Championship. Individually, Carrie von Uhlit and Chloe Baker led the Frogswith four points apiece.
Von Uhlit, who went 3-0 in horsemanship to extend her undefeated streak in the event to 11, was the only rider in the nation last year to go undefeated in horsemanship.
Taking home MVPs were all four returnees from last year's Western National Championship Qualifying team, including: von Uhlit, Baker, Jessica Bailey and Kindel Huffman. Huffman is the only rider on the squad to compete so far in both Western and English events.
TCU will be counting on its new group of freshmen to step up if they hope to beat Stephen F. Austin. Leading that core is Jessica Hagen, who leads all Frogs on the English side with three points.
