FORT WORTH, Texas -- TCU has sold out its allotment of tickets for the Dec. 31 EV1.net Houston Bowl.
The Horned Frogs have sold 12,000 tickets. The EV1.net Houston Bowl originally allotted 10,000 tickets to TCU, and the Frogs then ordered the remaining 2,000 available tickets behind the TCU bench on the east side of Reliant Stadium.
Those seats were sold out at the close of business Wednesday. All ticket requests are now being forwarded directly to the EV1.net Houston Bowl (www.ev1houstonbowl.net).
"This is outstanding news and a great statement of support by the TCU community," TCU Athletics Director Danny Morrison said. "We are very appreciative of those who purchased their EV1.net Houston Bowl tickets through TCU. This will have a positive impact on future bowl opportunities for TCU."
The Mountain West Conference champion and 14th-ranked Frogs face Iowa State in the EV1.net Houston Bowl. Kickoff is 1:30 p.m. Central. The Cyclones will be the second Big 12 opponent of the season for TCU. The Frogs opened the campaign with a 17-10 win at Oklahoma.
