FALL 2005 (SENIOR): Named the team[apos]s captain for the season...Recorded more singles victories than any other Horned Frog during the fall with an 8-4 slate...Picked up a No. 22 ranking in the ITA Southwest Region in December...Went 4-3 in doubles playing exclusively with Andrea Morgado...Reached the quarterfinals of the Baylor Invitational...Made the semifinals of the Cal Invitational, losing a 4-6, 6-2, 7-5 decision to No. 47 Cristina Visico of California...Won two main draw doubles matches at the Wilson/ITA Southwest Regional Championships.
2004-05 (JUNIOR): Finished the fall ranked No. 18 in the ITA Southwest Region in singles...Posted a 3-4 singles record and a 1-2 doubles mark while battling injuries throughout the fall...Won back-to-back matches in singles at the ITA Southwest Regional before falling in the round of 16...Finished 16-16 in singles and 13-12 in dual matches...Played the Nos. 3-6 slots in singles, finishing the year at six...Saw limited doubles action, posting a 4-3 record and a 3-1 slate in duals...Began the spring by winning six of her first seven matches in singles...Named to the Conference USA Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll and earned the Commissioner[apos]s Academic Medal for achieving at least a 3.75 grade point average...Was a member of the ITA All-Academic Team.
2003-04 (SOPHOMORE): Posted a 13-9 singles record playing primarily in the No. 5 and No. 6 spots...Had a 2-2 mark at No. 5 and a 9-3 record at No. 6...Compiled an 11-8 record in doubles teaming with Paige Brown and Jen Chay...Posted a 10-4 mark with Brown playing primarily in the No. 3 doubles slot...After starting the spring 1-3 in singles, Lopez won 10 straight matches that went to completion...In doubles action, Lopez and Brown opened with six straight wins...Named to the Conference USA Commissioner[apos]s Honor Roll and earned the Commissioner[apos]s Academic Medal for achieving at least a 3.75 grade point average...Was an ITA All-Academic Team member.
2002-03 (FRESHMAN): Joined TCU for the spring portion of the schedule after spending the fall at West Point Military Academy...Playing anywhere from the No. 4 through No. 6 singles slots, Lopez tallied a 6-8 record...Five of her six victories came in straight sets...Played two singles matches in the No. 3 position during the Conference USA Championship in New Orleans, winning 6-1, 6-3 over Paige Eber of Louisville...Her doubles match against the Cardinals was not completed...Compiled a 3-4 record in doubles competition...Went 2-2 with freshman Iris Jaklin...Finished the spring teaming with Karla Mancinas at the C-USA Championship...Was named TCU[apos]s Most Improved Player.
HIGH SCHOOL/JUNIOR: Played for The Woodlands High School...Spent three years as team captain...A Texas class 5A state finalist...Lopez was a member of the nationally ranked and California Interscholastic Federation Division 1 finalist Woodbridge H.S. as a freshman in Irvine, Calif...Won the Southern California USTA Sportsmanship Award...Three-time Most Valuable Player...Was the city of Irvine[apos]s Athlete of the Month...Won her team[apos]s Athletic Achievement Award from 2000 to 2002...Also a two-time letterwinner in track and field.
PERSONAL: Is double majoring in political science and Latin American studies...The daughter of Alfonso and Donna Lopez, Gloriann Sylvia Lopez was born Feb. 28, 1984...Her younger sister, Gabby, is a junior on the team...Has been on the Dean[apos]s List every semester at TCU...Enjoys playing the guitar, knitting, biking, kayaking, camping, hiking and surfing.
