Third straight year Vergara has been selected
AUSTIN, Texas – College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday that TCU beach volleyball players Daniela Alvarez and Ana Vergara have been tabbed to the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team.
The CSC Academic All-District Team honors student-athletes for their performances both competitively and in the classroom. The At-Large program allows institutions to nominate six nominees per gender per school in sports that do not already have CSC Academic Teams.
This marks the third consecutive year Vergara has earned CSC All-District accolades, while Alvarez is being tabbed to the list for the first time.
Alvarez has earned a flurry of awards after an uber-successful season. Most notably, she was named AVCA Collegiate Beach Player of the Year and earned All-America and All-Big 12 accolades following her 28-6 season. The 2024 Paris Olympian appeared in the No. 1 spot for the Horned Frogs in every match in 2025 and only suffered two losses in her final 20 matches of the season.
The 2025 season was Vergara's most successful of her career. She competed mainly alongside Anhelina Khmil, with the duo posting a 21-1 record en route to being named the Big 12 Pair of the Year. Vergara also earned All-Big 12 Team honors, and posted an overall record of 27-3 during the year.
The pair's accomplishments didn't end in the sand, as Vergara posted a GPA of 3.88 and Alvarez boasted a 3.84.
Alvarez was also selected as a finalist for CSC Academic All-America® and will advance to a national ballot to be voted on by CSC members.
