He is the first AP All-American at receiver since Josh Doctson.
FORT WORTH – TCU's Eric McAlister has added another pair of distinguished honors to his lengthy ledger this week as he has been named to the All-American teams of the Associated Press and Sporting News, two of the five official All-American selectors, the organization's announced this week.
McAlister was named a third teamer by AP and a second teamer by Sporting News on the heels of one of the greatest seasons by a wide receiver in program history.
The Azle, Texas native's 1,121 yards rank No. 2 on the single-season charts behind only Josh Doctson's 2015 mark (1,327). Doctson is also the last TCU receiver to earn All-American honors by either of the organizations before McAlister joined him this week.
McAlister's 1,121 yards are No. 5 nationally, and his 97.7 yards per game against Power 4 opponents is the nation's best mark. He has eclipsed 100 yards in six games this season, tying Doctson for the most in a single season in TCU history.
His 254 receiving yards against SMU are the second-most in a single game in the FBS this year.
McAlister was also named to the Big 12's All-Conference first team as well as the Biletnikoff Award's semifinalist list.
TCU – and their All-American receiver - plays #16 USC to close out the 2025 campaign on Tuesday, Dec. 30 in San Antonio at the Valero Alamo Bowl at 8 p.m.
