The senior from Azle leads the Big 12 in receiving.
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – TCU senior wide receiver Eric McAlister – the Big 12's best receiver – has been named to the semifinalist list for the 2025 Biletnikoff Award, given annually to college football's outstanding FBS receiver, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc. announced on Monday.
The award, named in honor of Fred Biletnikoff, is open to any player, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot or inside receiver, wing back, or running back) who catches a pass. The foundation named 13 semifinalists with McAlister serving as the conference's lone representative.
Through 10 games, the Azle, Texas native's 941 yards are ninth-most in a single TCU season, and with 59 more yards, he will become just the sixth player to eclipse 1,000 yards in a season. McAlister joins Jack Bech (2024) and Josh Doctson (2015) as TCU receivers to reach the semifinalist stage of the Biletnikoff process. Doctson went on to reach the finalist stage that season, as well.
McAlister's yardage total ranks sixth among all FBS receivers and is third among Power 4 receivers. The big-play threat's 18.1 yard-per-catch average leads the country among receivers with 50-plus catches. Among players with 50-plus receptions, McAlister's 72.5-percent first down conversation rate is fourth-best among P4 receivers (37 first downs).
His five 100-yard receiving games also rank second-most nationally overall and the most by any P4 receiver, tied with two others (Florida State, USC).
