Highest preseason ranking in program history and first in 22 years
FORT WORTH – TCU women's basketball continues to write new history ahead of the third chapter of the Mark Campbell era.
The Horned Frogs debuted at No. 17 in the preseason Associated Press poll to begin the 2025-26 season.
It is the highest preseason ranking in program history and marks the first time TCU has featured in the inaugural poll in 22 years. TCU started the 2002-03 campaign ranked No. 19 and was tabbed 24th the following season.
The Horned Frogs are one of four Big 12 teams featured in the rankings, behind No. 14 Iowa State and No. 16 Baylor and ahead of No. 22 Oklahoma State. TCU was picked to win the conference in the Preseason Big 12 Coaches' Poll, garnering 10-of-16 first place votes.
Iowa State and Baylor are two of five ranked opponents TCU will face. The Frogs draw No. 9 NC State and No. 24 Richmond in November and battle the Cowgirls on Jan. 7 inside Schollmaier Arena.
Other teams receiving votes in the poll on TCU's schedule are Ohio State (27th), West Virginia (28th), Kansas State (30th) and Kansas (32nd).
TCU has maintained a top-20 ranking in 20 consecutive polls dating back to November. Prior to the 2024-25 season, the Horned Frogs had appeared in the top-20 on 11 occasions.
The Frogs' run of 20 straight AP Top 25 features is the second-longest in TCU basketball history, trailing only the 2003-04 women's basketball team's run of 21 rankings.
TCU finished No. 6 in the final Associated Press poll in 2024-25 and earned its highest national ranking in program history.
Under Campbell, the Horned Frogs have competed to a 33-6 record as a ranked team. TCU finished 9-3 vs. ranked foes last season.
TCU opens the 2025-26 season at 4 p.m. on Nov. 6 against North Carolina A&T.
New season ticket purchases remain ongoing and start at just $155. Group and single-game general admission ticket sales began on Monday. Fans can order now by calling the TCU Ticket Office at 817-257-1849 or online on GoFrogs.com.
