6-2 forward has a year of eligibility remaining
FORT WORTH – TCU forward Aaliyah Roberson suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament while playing 3x3 during the spring and will miss the 2025-26 season.
Roberson has a year of eligibility remaining and intends to play her final collegiate season in 2026-27.
"The injury has been one of the most difficult challenges of my life, but I know that I am not alone in this journey," Roberson said. "I am so thankful for all the love and support that my family, my teammates and my coaches have shown me throughout my recovery. I also want to thank the TCU human performance and sports medicine staffs for taking care of me.
"Being unable to play my senior season is devastating, and I'd do anything to take the court with my teammates. But God has a plan for me and I'm entrusting in Him throughout this time. This setback is the precursor to something bigger. I will be the best teammate possible throughout the year and support my girls in every way while I get my knee back strong and healthy."
The San Antonio native has appeared in 89 games and made 20 starts across her three years in Fort Worth.
She was one of the top stretch forwards in college basketball and a key reserve for TCU in 2024-25 on its run to a sweep of the Big 12 championships and NCAA Elite Eight appearance. The 6-2 Roberson led all Division I post players in effective field goal percentage (.677) and connected at a team-leading 48.3 percent clip from behind the arc. She knocked down 56.5 percent (43-76) of her field goals during conference and postseason play. Roberson was one of five players to appear in all 38 games for the Horned Frogs.
The San Antonio native flourished in an expanded role in her first season in head coach Mark Campbell's system. The 2023-24 campaign saw Roberson earn the starting nod in the Frogs' final 17 contests. She averaged a career-best 10.5 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game as a starter, scoring in double figures 13 times.
Roberson signed with TCU in 2021 as a three-year letter winner at Clark High School.
She will graduate in May with her bachelor's degree in allied health science.
