Brian Norwood joined the TCU football staff in March 2025.
Norwood came to the Horned Frogs after serving five seasons as assistant head coach/passing game coordinator/safeties coach at UCLA. Eight Bruins received All-Pac-12 honors under his tutelage. In 2023, UCLA led the Pac-12 and ranked 10th nationally in total defense, allowing just 301.5 yards per game.
Norwood was in co-defensive coordinator roles at Navy (2019), Kansas State (2018) and Tulsa (2015-17). The Midshipmen set a program record with 11 wins during his season in Annapolis. While at K-State, Norwood helped the Wildcats’ pass defense improve from last in the Big 12 Conference to fourth in just one season.
Additionally, Norwood was associate head coach and safeties coach at Baylor from 2008-14 while also serving as safeties coach at Penn State (2001-07) with additional stops at Texas Tech (2000), a first stint at Navy (1995-99), Richmond (1992-94) and Arizona (1990-91).
