Patton earns second career invite; Diorio first career invite
FORT WORTH – TCU women's soccer's Bella Diorio and Cameron Patton have been called up to the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team training camp being held from May 26-June 2 in Fayetteville, Ga. They are two of 24 players invited to the camp. Patton was recently called up to participate in a camp back in March. For Diorio, this is her first call-up.
"We are super proud of both Bella and Cam for all the hard work they have done to put themselves in a situation where they can be invited to the national team camp," said head coach Eric Bell. "It's also a testament to the environment which we have created. A lot of kids want to come to TCU because we prepare kids to be professionals. I know that both of those young ladies came to TCU with the ambition of being pros as well. We are very proud of them both and we want to wish them the best of luck as they go to the training camp. I'm certain that they both will do very well there."
Diorio, the Big 12 Forward of the Year, contributed 11 goals and four assists in her sophomore season, ranking third in the Big 12 in goals scored. She was also second in the league in game-winning goals with four. Diorio was named to both first-team All-Big 12 and the Big 12 All-Tournament Team.
Patton, the Austin, Texas native, started 22 out of 23 games as a freshman for the Horned Frogs. She played the entirety of 16 matches while tallying one goal while adding five assists for seven points in 2024. Patton earned All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors.
About the camp
While the USA is also competing in the 2025 Concacaf Women's U-20 Championship in Costa Rica during this FIFA window with a team of players born in 2006 and 2007, this squad of players heading to Georgia were all born in 2005, making them too old for the next FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. To that end, this programming for the 2005s will allow 24 top college-aged players to continue their growth in the U.S. WNT programs with hopes of moving along the pathway to U.S. U-23 WNT and beyond.
The camp will be run by current Seattle Reign FC assistant coach Kate Norton, a long-time U.S. Youth National Teams assistant.
