One of 11 players to earn a spot on the All-Big 12 Team
FORT WORTH – TCU is home to the best first-year player in the Big 12.
Camille Min-Gaultier was named Big 12 Freshman of the Year and earned a spot on the All-Big 12 Team as postseason all-conference awards were unveiled on Thursday.
Min-Gaultier ascended to No. 49 in the final set of Scoreboard rankings and is the highest-rated freshman in the league. She has finished as the individual runner-up in three events and did so consecutively at The Chevron Collegiate and MountainView Collegiate on Feb. 25 and March 4. The back-to-back second place finishes were the apex of a spring season that saw Min-Gaultier shoot even or under par in 10 of 18 rounds and post six sub-70's.
Originally from La Londe-les-Maures, France, Min-Gaultier is the sixth player under head coach Angie Ravaioli-Larkin to receive a conference freshman of the year accolade. She joins a standout list that includes All-American Angela Stanford (1997, WAC) and 2020 Olympian Sanna Nuutinen (2011, Mountain West).
Ahead of the NCAA Tournament, Min-Gaultier leads TCU in season scoring average (72.2), sub-70's (nine), low-18 (65) and low-54 (203). She is also tied for the team-high in counters (29-32), par-or-better rounds (16) and top-10's (four).
Her transformation into one of the top up-and-coming amateurs has been remarkable. Min-Gaultier has ascended 85 spots in the Scoreboard rankings over the course of the spring. She was tabbed 134th at the conclusion of the fall season. She sports a spring season scoring average of 72.
Beginning with a T2 in TCU's team championship at the Jim West Challenge in October, Min-Gaultier has cracked the top-20 of the individual leaderboard in eight of her last nine starts. She has been TCU's top finisher in a team-leading four events, including three of the Frogs' last six tournaments. Min-Gaultier has placed no worse than 25th in any tournament.
Min-Gaultier delivered the greatest performance by a TCU freshman in outright runner-up finish at The Chevron Collegiate. She shot a 13-under 203 to lead TCU to its third team title of the 2024-25 campaign. Min-Gaultier set a program record for low-54 hole total by a freshman and came one stroke shy of matching the Horned Frogs' all-time record for low-54 vs. par.
TCU and Min-Gaultier begin play at the NCAA Lexington Regional on Monday at Champion Trace at Keene Trace Golf Club in Nicholasville, Ky.
