FORT WORTH – TCU punctuated its run to the Big 12 regular season championship with a league-leading eight postseason All-Big 12 accolades.
David Roditi was tabbed Big 12 Coach of the Year while Cooper Woestendick was honored as Big 12 Freshman of the Year to headline the Horned Frogs' awards roundup.
TCU also accrued a conference-best four All-Big 12 first team singles selections, as Jack Pinnington, Lui Maxted, Pedro Vives and Cooper Woestendick received the recognition. The four players each earned All-Big 12 first team doubles honors as well. The Horned Frog quartet were four of seven players across the conference named to both the All-Big 12 singles and doubles teams.
Roditi earned his sixth Big 12 Coach of the Year award and third in the last four seasons. His half-dozen Coach of the Year honors are the most of any coach in league history since the Big 12 was incepted in 1997. The TCU men's tennis alum is also the only coach to claim the crown five times in an eight-year period.
Behind Roditi, TCU concluded the 2024-25 regular season with a 22-3 overall record and unbeaten 8-0 mark in conference play. The Horned Frogs tied the 2023 and 1989 teams for most regular season victories. TCU won its ninth Big 12 title and reached the ITA Indoor National Championships final for the fourth consecutive season. The regular season resume catapulted the Frogs to the No. 2 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament on Monday.
Woestendick became the third player in program history to be chosen as Big 12 Freshman of the Year, joining All-Americans Alex Rybakov (2016) and Sebastian Gorzny (2023). He signed with TCU in November as a member of the program's 2025 recruiting class but elected to enroll early in January. The Olathe, Kan., native has since competed to a 23-6 combined overall record and 10-1 mark in singles play. Woestendick is tabbed 42nd in the ITA doubles rankings and holds an ITA singles ranking of No. 92 entering the postseason.
Vives and Maxted's pair of All-Big 12 first team selections are the first in their careers. The seniors won the NCAA Doubles Championship in November while also earning All-American honors in singles.
The tandem occupied the No. 1 spot in the ITA rankings for five consecutive polls from March 4-April 15. Vives and Maxted own an NCAA-leading 13 ranked victories and are a nation's best 8-1 vs. top-10 opponents.
The four-time national champions willed TCU to the ITA Indoor National Championship match in February. They were responsible for 10 of the Horned Frogs' 15 points in the four-dual affair. Vives and Maxted finished a combined 7-0 in singles on courts two and three, with Vives winning all four of his matches, and clinched the doubles point in quarterfinal and semifinal wins vs. San Diego and Stanford.
Vives missed the last month of the regular season due to injury. At the time of the setback, he held the No. 1 ITA doubles ranking and had ascended to No. 2 in singles. Vives holds a 38-6 combined record and is 24-3 in doubles. He is 7-0 in dual singles play.
Maxted leads TCU in total wins (56), doubles wins (30) and singles wins (26). He has also downed a team-leading 12 ranked players in singles. Maxted has been a lock on court two in singles play, amassing a 9-1 mark at the position, and will carry a seven-match unbeaten streak into the NCAA Tournament.
Pinnington is now a two-time All-Big 12 first team singles honoree. The junior has manned the top spot in TCU's lineup for the bulk of the season. Pinnington, the ITA No. 10 singles player, went 5-1 in league play and holds eight ranked victories.
He and Woestendick have formed one of the nation's most consistent doubles teams since partnering together for the first time in January. The duo is presently enjoying a seven-match winning streak that includes a quartet of conference victories. Pinnington and Woestendick are 11-4 overall and undefeated vs. ranked pairs. They were elevated to court one midway through conference play due to Vives' absence and promptly went 3-0 in the position.
TCU faces Abilene Christian (13-10) at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. The Horned Frogs will battle No. 24 Oklahoma (16-10) or No. 33 Illinois (15-11) in the round of 32 on Saturday with a victory over the Wildcats.
