Norrie & Rybakov Selected for NCAAs

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU men's tennis players Cameron Norrie and Alex Rybakov earned a bid to the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's Tennis Singles Championship that will be held from May 25-30 at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center in Tulsa, Okla.
No. 6 Norrie earned a singles bid for the second straight season and is seeded No. 5 in the bracket, which automatically earns him All-America honors for the second straight season. Rybakov, who is currently ranked No. 24, earned an at-large bid in the bracket and his selection marks the second straight season a freshman from TCU will be competing in the singles championship.
Norrie has played at the top two positions all season long and boasts a 21-7 overall record this season. The inaugural Oracle/ITA Masters champion is 15-4 overall in dual matches this season and has a 16-7 record against ranked opponents. After helping his team win the 2016 Big 12 Tennis Championship, Norrie was named Most Outstanding Player of the tournament and was named to the All-Tournament team at the No. 1 position in singles and the No. 3 spot in doubles with Rybakov.
Rybakov has been stellar in his debut campaign as a Horned Frog, as the Coral Springs, Fla., native has gone 20-5 this season. The freshman is 18-4 in dual matches this year playing at the top two positions with 10 wins over ranked opponents. Rybakov has won his last eight straight matches and was named to the 2016 Big 12 All-Tournament team at the championship at the No. 2 position in singles and the No. 3 spot in doubles with Norrie.
Both competitors will open postseason by taking part in the team competition starting on May 13, as TCU will host Rice, LSU and Jackson State in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Championship.
