Duo Selected for Oracle/ITA Masters

FORT WORTH, Texas – TCU men's tennis sophomores Cameron Norrie and Guillermo Nuñez were selected for the inaugural 2015 Oracle/ITA Masters tournament that will take place on Sept. 18-20 in Malibu, Calif.
The Oracle/ITA Masters marks the first national collegiate championship of the 2015-16 season. The event will be played at the Malibu Racquet Club in Malibu, California, with Pepperdine University helping to facilitate the championships and serving as an official event partner.
Sixteen of the top returning Division I men's and women's singles players will compete, along with eight outstanding men's and women's doubles teams. Each participant is guaranteed two matches.
Norrie became the second freshman in TCU men's tennis history to snag All-America honors in singles this past season, as the Auckland, New Zealand native advanced to the Elite Eight. Norrie concluded his debut campaign for the Horned Frogs with a 28-11 overall record in singles action and victories in 12 of his last 13 matches. Norrie brought down 12 ranked opponents in his first season and became the 22nd Horned Frog and 44th All-America selection in program history.
Nuñez finished this past season ranked No. 31 in the ITA final poll after going 29-7 in his first season, including a 21-2 mark in dual match action. The reigning Big 12 Freshman of the Year, Nuñez strung together 19 straight wins from January 7 to April 4 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Singles Championship. The Santiago, Chile native defeated nine ranked opponents in his debut campaign and was also named ITA Player to Watch in the Texas Region.
TCU is coming off one of its best seasons in program history, as the team advanced to its fourth Final Four in program history and finished the season ranked No. 4 in the final Oracle/ITA poll.
