Chappell Earns Another Circuit Event Win

DECATUR, Ill. - TCU sophomore Nick Chappell continued his summer of hot play Wednesday with a first-round win at the Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic, a USTA Pro Circuit Event.
Chappell knocked off Dane Webb, 7-6, 7-5 to earn another ATP point toward his singles world ranking. Webb is a sophomore at the University of Oklahoma and was the ITA Central Region Rookie of the Year in 2012.
A product of Indianapolis, Chappell has taken down two 2012 All-Americans in his last two events with wins over Webb and Costin Paval.
"Playing at the top spot in the lineup really helped Nick last season," TCU coach David Roditi said. "His success this summer shows us that being thrown into the fire early has really helped his development."
