Chappell Into Mansfield Futures Second Round

MANSFIELD, Texas - TCU sophomore Nick Chappell advanced Wednesday to the second round of the USTA Futures of Mansfield $15,000, a USTA Pro Circuit Event.
Chappell claimed a 6-4, 6-3 win over Dmitriy Minkin of Russia after qualifying for the main draw via three wins in the qualifying draw. Chappell continues play Thursday in the second round.
With the win, the Indianapolis native earned another ATP point toward his world singles ranking. Currently, Chappell is ranked as the No. 1212 player in the world.
In the summer, Chappell advanced to the second round of the Lewis and Clark Community College USTA Men's Futures Tennis Tournament and to the third round of the Ursula Beck Pro Tennis Classic.
