
Cotet's run ends in quarterfinals

COSTA MESA, Calif. - TCU men's tennis player Cosmin Cotet's impressive run at the USA F23 Futures tournament came to an end on Friday with a 6-4, 5-7, 6-2 loss to Tim Smyczek of the United States.
Cotet started the tournament a week ago, winning four matches in the qualifying draw to advance to the main draw, where the TCU senior claimed two more matches. Cotet won in straight sets in five of his six victories, including a 6-3, 6-3 win over No. 3 seeded Michael Yani.
Cotet is currently ranked No. 54 in singles play and No. 22 in doubles in the preseason Fila/ITA collegiate tennis rankings.
