Frogs advance in singles and doubles at Futures event

WAIKOLAO, Hawaii - TCU men's tennis players Cosmin Cotet and Adrian Simon won their second doubles match to advance to the semifinals on Wednesday at the USA F28 Futures tournament in Waikolao, Hawaii. The two Frogs also advanced on the first day of singles play.
Cotet and Simon defeated the duo of Bryan and Vodicka of the United States by a score of 6-4, 6-2 in the quarterfinals. The Frog duo will face the No. 3 seeded duo of Ball (AUS) and Rizza (USA) in the semifinals.
In singles play, Cotet began with a 6-4, 6-2 defeat of Dave Lingman (USA) in the round of 32. Simon downed Benjamin Lankenau (USA) by a score of 7-6(4), 6-4. Cotet will meet No. 4 Carsten Ball (AUS) in the round of 16, while Simon will face No. 2 Alexander Satschko of Germany.
