
Men's tennis has strong showing at ITA regionals

COLLEGE STATION, Texas - The TCU men's tennis team has made a strong showing thus far at the ITA Regionals, held on the campus of Texas A&M this weekend. The doubles team of Jordan Freitas and Radu Barbu will play in the quarterfinals today.
The doubles tandem of Freitas and Barbu have played their way into the quarterfinals match versus Alberto Sottocomo and David Goulet of Rice today at 4 p.m. Along their way to the quarterfinals, Freitas and Barbu enjoyed a first-round bye and knocked off Erhart Asaad and Joey Farias of Texas A&M-CC.
In singles play, the Frogs' Rafael Abreu made his way to the round of 32 after a straight-sets victory over Texas' Hubert Chodkiewicz. Barbu also found himself in the round of 32 defeating Adam Becker of Texas (6-1, 6-4).
Craig Stopa advanced to the fourth round of the consolation bracket after posting Rechman Esmail of UT-Pan Am.
The final round of the ITA Regionals is being played today.
