Men's Tennis Begins 2002 ITA All American

FORT WORTH, Texas - Junior Alex Menichini has won six rounds of tennis in the 2002 ITA All American Qualifier, placing him, along with senior Toni Gordon, with the top 64 college players in the U.S. to begin play at the 2002 ITA All American Tournament in Chattanooga, Tenn. on Oct. 10.
Menichini defeated Ojndje Uskovic 7-5,7-6, then Adrian Zguns 6-2,6-4, then Tom Hanus 6-4; 6-2 then Joachin Lien 6-2,6-3 and then Nick Monroe 3-6,7-5,7-5 and finally went on to defeat Erik Nyman (BYU) 1-6; 6-3; 6-0.
Assistant coach Cory Hubbard called Alex's wins, "a tremendous accomplishment. He is now in the draw with the top 64 college players in the country including Toni Gordon."
The main draw of the tournament begins Oct. 10, and results will be posted on the TCU Website.
