2001-02 Men's Tennis Schedule Announced

FORT WORTH, Texas - TCU head men's tennis coach Joey Rive announced the team's 2001-02 schedule for the upcoming fall and spring seasons. Team members will compete as individuals in seven fall tournaments, including the Omni Hotels Regional Tennis Championships hosted by TCU at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center on Oct. 25-29.
The Frogs' dual match season features 14 teams that competed in the NCAA Tournament last season. Six of those opponents also reached the NCAA Championships in Athens, Ga.
TCU will serve as the host for the Conference USA Shootout on Feb. 22-23, a four-team tournament consists of TCU, Tulane, South Florida and UNC-Charlotte. First round matches will pit TCU against UNC-Charlotte and Tulane against South Florida. The winners and losers from those matches would then play each other the next day.
When asked about his thoughts on this year's schedule Rive said, "I'm pleased with our schedule for this year. I think it's a top 10 schedule and our guys will have to handle every opponent as a new challenge."
TCU opens the dual match season at home against SMU on January 30.
